With 12 million cars and motorbikes, a slew of transportation and urban development projects and outdated waste-treatment technologies, Ho Chi Minh City's air is becoming increasingly polluted. According to the 2025 Environmental Quality, Water Resources Monitoring, and Emission Source Supervision Program released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the city's air quality has deteriorated mainly due to fine dust pollution. 

Với khoảng 12 triệu ô tô và xe máy, cùng nhiều dự án giao thông – đô thị và công nghệ xử lý chất thải lạc hậu, không khí tại TP.HCM đang ngày càng ô nhiễm. Theo Chương trình giám sát chất lượng môi trường, tài nguyên nước và kiểm soát nguồn thải năm 2025 do Bộ Nông nghiệp và Môi trường công bố, chất lượng không khí của thành phố suy giảm chủ yếu do ô nhiễm bụi mịn.
